Our client is a USA based company, creator of the largest online basketball manager game in the world. In the three years since their public release, they have attracted over 55,000 long‐term subscribers from around the world. They pride themselves on having the most complex and most accurate basketball simulation found on the Internet.

Their online basketball manager game is a browser‐based game developed in ASP.NET with a VB back‐end and a Microsoft SQL Server 2005 database. In addition, they have several computationally‐intensive modules written in C++ that populate the game data.

This offer is an exciting opportunity to join a growing, financially self‐sustained, international start‐up company.

The Role
You will be responsible primarily for managing and motivating a team of three developers in Croatia.

In addition, your role will include:
- Establishing the Croatian office and administrating its expenses
- Managing the advertising budget and campaigns
- Investigating new opportunities for growing game’s subscriber‐base
- Prioritizing development opportunities and tasks based on predicted value and complexity
- Communicating regularly with the founding team to determine the long‐term strategy

The size of the development group is expected to grow over time.

Required Knowledge and Qualifications
- 5+ years’ professional experience managing a technical team of developers
- Ability to motivate a technical team to accomplish difficult tasks by aggressive deadlines
- Effective time‐management skills
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability
- Fluency in English
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken

Additional Desired Skills (in order of importance)
- Marketing experience
- In‐depth knowledge of and passion for sports, especially basketball
- Programming experience (any language)
- Financial accounting experience
- Design experience (Photoshop, etc.)
