Linux System Administrator

Crossvallia is a leading global consulting and development company specialized in IT infrastructure, cloud computing, and security. We’re always on the lookout for people who would be comfortable in implementing and maintaining platforms for company’s Content Delivery Network and Managed/Colocation services… a.k.a. Linux system administrators.
Location: Zagreb, Rijeka, Sarajevo, Remote 

In Zagreb you’ll find us on the 12th floor of DoubleTree by Hilton hotel, while our teams in Rijeka and Sarajevo will be happy to meet candidates from their respective areas. Once you finish initial education and show you can hold your own, we are completely OK with you working from home full-time. 

Your role... 
• planning, configuration, deployment, and maintenance work associated with the production environments supporting our CDN, Dedicated Hosting and Cloud Storage products
• maintain various Linux services (Bind, Apache, HAProxy, Varnish, MySQL, Memcached, Redis, MongoDB, PostgreSQL, RAID, ...) and other custom services
• resolve production-affecting issues as they are reported by customers/monitoring systems/sourced internally from Ops
• create and maintain detailed documentation

Knowledge, skills, and abilities required… or desirable:
• Linux system administration (packages, users, ACLs, resource management, securing base installations, discovering basic hardware issues, ...)
• experience with command line tools (AWK, sed, grep, ...) and one or more scripting languages (Bash, Perl, Python, ...)
• understanding of TCP/IP, firewalls and an overview of load balancing clusters

And if you have:
• a CV in English
• a highly responsible, self-motivated personality that’s able to thrive in a dynamic environment
• strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
• excellent organizational skills and an ability to triage issues
• what it takes to work in an on-call environment (either as a primary or escalation contact)
